After having a pretty quiet hurricane season we now have two strong storms swirling around creating havoc and death. Gustav and Hannah are strong storm heading for the United States, they have begun to evacuate New Orleans ahead of the arrival of Gustav next week and it looks like Hannah will hit the Carolina’s next week too. I hope this busy time of year for hurricanes is drawing to a close, the hurricane season is over November 1st. Let us hope the storms are over way before that time of year rolls around.

Over the weekend in Knoxville there was a shooting at a church, two people were killed in this terrible event. Today the local news station reports that the reason the man shot up the church, was that he did not like their liberal views! In most cases I would pass this off as a lunatic on a rampage, but having seen pictures of this idiot and heard a bit more I think that this dude just lost his mind with all the liberal crap floating around on our airwaves. Some people are just susceptible to propaganda and the lord know we are bombarded by this crap every day.

After almost two years and countless nights of working with no break I am taking a vacation I will be relaxing and taking it easy until Sunday. My last “vacation” included flying to California to purchase a van and load my wifes household item on it and drive them and her back to Tennessee, no we had no broken up she had a short term job in San Jose California and when the job was over she came back to me and the dogs. So it was not much of a vacation we did some fun stuff while we were in California and on the way back but thats not like a trip somewhere just to have fun.

The single game tickets for the Tennessee Titians went on sale yesterday and sold out in 32 minutes, even the pre season games sold out in just over an hour. There are a couple of games this year I would like to see, the Steelers play here for the first time in several years and I would like to go to that game. Season tickets are not something I would be interested in, If I am going to get season tickets I will get them for the Nashville Predators, I have had season tickets the last two years but have held of buying them this year due to the rising cost of everything. I may just pick a few games and go that route, I will miss being there every home game it was a huge part of my life and one part that I really enjoyed.

The list of candidates to be the Vice President is quite filled at this time, with only a few people saying no early. My favorite is John Edwards on the Democratic side and Condelessa Rice on the Republican side. Who knows who the candidates will choose to fill out their ticket this fall. I know that I could not support either Clinton for a simple office like dog catcher, I do not think either one of them can be trusted to lead a girl scout troop and I know for sure your do not want Wild Bill that close to girl scouts.

The family is coming over to BBQ and after we feast on steaks and ribs we are going to the lake to watch the fireworks. Downtown Nashville the fireworks show there is expecting 100,000 people way to many for me to deal with, parking will be a nightmare, it is bad all the time but will be much worse tonight.If it takes two hours to get to a venue and three hours to get back home the fun value is way diminished. I will just drive one mile and sit on the grass and watch the fireworks from Nashville Shores, it is much better anyway.

The price of gasoline has been holding under $4.00 a gallon but I fear it will shoot up again soon. If the price of gasoline  does not lower very soon we will be forced to close our delivery business. As many small business owners we make it day by day and with our expenses going up with the price of gasoline and no extra income coming in it seems very bleak for us and many other small businesses.

With my new diet I do not get the chance to eat one of my favorite meals anymore, a good burger and french fries can be one of the best tasting meals going. I miss my burgers and fries, now it is grilled chicken and salad, it is almost not worth eating healthy. I would pay big bucks to get a thick juicy hamburger and some salty french fries loaded with ketchup, I am telling ya BIG bucks.

Dale Jr won a race in Michigan yesterday running on fumes, he was actually shutting his car off during yellow flags and coasting around the track where he could. That sounds like an interesting way to commute. I can see me shutting off my engine to coast up to lights and the way my luck goes it would not start when I got the green, but anyway way to go Jr hope it is not 76 races before you win again.

Today is one of those days you just want to stay in bed and sleep, but that does not get the work done. I feel like I am 100 today, I can not get my brain to work or my body I am creeping around barley able to walk,last night was tough we had a lot of papers to throw and were very short handed. Thanks to Gerald and his crew for their help or we might of still been out delivering papers. It is time to get some sleep before time to go back to work.
